Status - This tree represents the ancestry claimed by the Pizarro family of Loja, Ecuador based on online trees and a genealogical study by the Ecuadorian historian Dr. Alfonso Anda Aguirre.  The early Pizarros were minor nobility from Trujillo, Cáceres, Extremadura, Spain, and their identities are clearly established by historical and genealogical records.  The main problems are the identity and relationships of Juan Pizarro (of Loja) and Maria de la Rua.  Our research does not entirely support Anda Aguirre's findings, but the conflicts are presented for the reader to judge.  Details
